About the campaign

The Anti-Bullying Rapid Review (the Review) was announced on 16 February 2025 in recognition of the increasing prevalence of bullying and other harmful behaviours and their impact on young people and school communities. The Review was informed by extensive consultation including 1,706 submissions, 77 targeted online stakeholder meetings, 38 in-person consultations, reference group meetings and independent research.

Recommendation 3.a. from the Review advised that the Australian Government lead transformative national actions, including a targeted public awareness campaign, to be developed with experts in primary prevention and behaviour change, the education sector, the school workforce, and other stakeholders, to:

  1. build community understanding of bullying and other harmful behaviours and their impacts, including cyberbullying and image-based abuse
  2. equip the community to contribute to cultural change
  3. support any national implementation of this Review’s recommendations, including the National Standard.

In response to the review, the Australian Government has also funded the development of targeted resources for school communities alongside the national awareness campaign.
