There are many free resources available to help you recognise the possible early signs of harm for school-aged children, what harmful behaviours, including bullying, may look like and what action you can take.
National action to address bullying in Australian schools
The information outlined on this website was developed in response to the recommendations in the Anti-Bullying Rapid Review (the Review) report, to help school communities prevent and address bullying and harmful behaviours, and ensure that every Australian school is a safe, inclusive and respectful learning environment.
The expectations of the National Framework for Addressing Bullying in Australian Schools (National Framework) will be embedded into state, territory and non-government education policies and procedures by Term 1, 2027. This includes making reasonable efforts to initiate a response to bullying and harmful behaviour within two school days, recognising that further time may be required to fully address the issue. By Term 1 2027, all schools will also publish or link to policies and procedures that align with the National Framework or relevant state- based equivalent, reflecting their local policies and school context.
