Bullying and other harmful behaviours can look different in every situation and affect young people in different ways. It happens more often than we realise and to more young people than we think. Additional resources are being developed and will be available on this website later in 2026. Subscribe to receive updates and be notified when these resources become available.
As parents and carers, you can play a critical role in supporting your child or young person if they have experienced, engaged in, or witnessed bullying or other harmful behaviours, and in helping your child build positive behaviours.
These resources have been developed to help you understand bullying and other harmful behaviours, spot the signs to look out for, discover ways you can support your child or young person and work in partnership with schools.
Tailored resources have also been developed for school-aged children. These can be downloaded for your child or young person.
The resources were developed in response to the Anti-Bullying Rapid Review which was specific to bullying and harmful behaviours in a school context. However, the resources may also support parents and carers, young people and the community understand and help prevent and address bullying in other contexts, including online, sporting and in other community settings.
The Department commissioned Dolly’s Dream (Alannah and Madeline Foundation) to develop new anti-bullying resources for school students and parents/carers, together with Cool.org and Project Rockit.
The information in these resources is provided as guidance only and should not be relied upon as an assessment of a child's wellbeing, experiences or needs or as specific instructions on what to do. The resources provide information and general advice which may be useful and should be applied as relevant to individual circumstances.
